Founders & Keepers is a monthly story membership for families who want history to feel a little more alive - and want meaningful moments woven into everyday life.

Each month, your family receives one true story from America’s past through an illustrated letter, keepsakes, and a Keeper’s Question designed to spark curiosity and conversation.

Founders & Keepers was created for families to enjoy together. The stories are especially engaging for children roughly ages 7–14, though plenty of parents find themselves just as invested.

Some families read them aloud. Some use them alongside school. Others simply open the envelope together and see where the conversation goes.

Founders & Keepers sends one new story mailing each month.

Our regular monthly mailing ships on the 2nd Friday of the month. If you join before that month’s mailing is sent, your first story will be included in that shipment.

If you join after the monthly mailing has already gone out, your first story will ship within 7 days of your order.

After that, your next story will be part of the next monthly mailing cycle after your next billing date.

Which means there’s a very good chance your mailbox is about to become significantly more interesting.

Founders & Keepers offers both recurring and one-time options.

Our monthly membership sends a new story from America’s past to your mailbox each month and renews automatically until canceled.

We also offer one-time purchase options, including an annual membership, single mailings, and a six-month gift option, which do not renew.

No matter which option you choose, each mailing is designed to bring your family an illustrated story letter, meaningful keepsakes, and a little more adventure in the mailbox.

Yes. Though we’d be sad to see you go, you may cancel your membership at any time.

Because each mailing is prepared in advance in small batches, memberships are generally non-refundable once shipments begin. But if there’s ever an issue with your membership, please reach out - we’re real people, and we’ll always do our best to help.

We’ve heard this question quite a bit already - especially from families with siblings who are equally invested in the monthly mail.

At the moment, each mailing includes one set of keepsakes, but additional stickers and character cards are something we’re actively exploring as future add-ons.

We're working on a way to make select past mailings available in the future. For now, all one-time purchases and subscriptions begin with the next upcoming mailing.
